BUILT ON EFFORT
What started as a podcast to share wild takes and thoughts on mixed martial arts quickly turned into something bigger — a mindset inspired by the same fighters we were talking about.
Every day, we all juggle responsibilities — work, family, friends — and somewhere in that chaos, we try to find time to better ourselves. Whether it’s chasing an Ironman or running your first mile, Heavy Bag Heroes is here to celebrate every effort.
“It started as an outlet for me to talk about the UFC. I’ve been watching fights for nearly 15 years — going to Buffalo Wild Wings with my dad and brother to catch the cards. Over time, I got more and more invested. Not just in the fights, but in the fighters — the mentality, the discipline, the heart it takes to do what they do. I realized I didn’t want to be a fighter (mostly because I’m terrified of getting my nose broken), but I wanted to live with that same mindset.
Whether it’s at work, in the gym, or in relationships, I wanted to become more disciplined — to better myself physically, mentally, and emotionally. To control my emotions, do the hard things when no one’s watching, and make myself proud. I’m not chasing major wins like the featherweight championship (I’m 240 pounds), but I am chasing the discipline it takes to become a better version of myself.”

Heavy Bag Heroes isn’t just about throwing punches — it’s about showing up for yourself, every day. Not everyone throws punches for a living — but we all fight for something.
