UFC FIGHT NIGHT: MORENO VS KAVANAGH PREDITIONS

BRANDON MORENO (-250) VS. LONE’ER KAVANAGH (+210)

Initial thought: Moreno by decision.

This feels like a fight where Moreno comes out sharp and composed. It’s a massive step up in competition for Kavanagh, who is stepping in on short notice for Asu Almabayev. That’s never an easy position to be in, especially against someone as experienced as Moreno.

Moreno is coming off a controversial loss to Tatsuro Taira—an early stoppage in my opinion—and should be highly motivated. Kavanagh started 3–0 in the UFC, most recently scoring a KO/TKO over Charles Johnson.

I imagine this one goes the distance. Kavanagh is tough, and Moreno thrives in five-round fights. Expect a high-level, technical battle.

MARLON “CHITO” VERA (+220) VS. DAVID MARTINEZ (-260)

I want badly for Chito to get back in the win column. His last fight was a controversial decision loss, but he simply wasn’t active enough to sway the judges. It was classic Chito—low volume, but visible damage.

Martinez is coming off a decision win over Rob Font, which is a big name on the résumé. This is his chance to prove he belongs in the top 10.

My heart says Chito, but my head says Martinez takes a decision, especially fighting in his home country.

DANIEL ZELLHUBER (-500) VS. KING GREEN (+375)

Not much to overthink here. If Zellhuber doesn’t get this done early, I’d be surprised. There’s a significant size advantage, and although he’s coming off back-to-back losses, he was in an absolute war in 2024 and has shown he can compete at a high level.

On paper, this matchup favors him.
Prediction: Zellhuber by KO/TKO.

EDGAR CHAIREZ (-235) VS. FELIPE BUNES (+200)

This one is intriguing. Both fighters have losses to Joshua Van, and both are durable.

Bunes is more submission-focused with a strong ground game, while Chairez is the more well-rounded striker with solid grappling of his own.

The fight will likely tell its story early. Altitude could become a factor, and volume may be the difference. I lean toward Chairez finding success with his striking.
Prediction: Chairez by TKO.

IMANOL RODRIGUEZ (-400) VS. KEVIN BORJAS (+300)

Rodriguez enters with real momentum after a first-round KO on DWCS. He’s well-rounded, composed, and has strong grappling to pair with sharp stand-up. There’s clear upside in his UFC run.

Borjas is 2–3 in the UFC and known for his long-range boxing, but he has struggled when opponents mix in grappling pressure.

Expect Rodriguez to push the pace and potentially secure a finish inside three rounds.
Prediction: Rodriguez by KO.

SANTIAGO LUNA (-450) VS. ANGEL PACHECO (+350)

Luna is a promising prospect who continues to show growth. He has clean striking, real power, and solid grappling. He’s coming off a first-round KO in his last outing.

Pacheco is durable and tough, but this feels like a showcase opportunity.

I expect Luna to assert himself and get the finish inside three rounds.
Prediction: Luna by finish.
