PRIZEPICKS BREAKDOWN: UFC FIGHT NIGHT STRICKLAND VS HERNANDEZ

PRIZEPICKS BREAKDOWN

The goal isn’t to pick winners. The goal is to find value. I don’t care who gets their hand raised if the numbers don’t make sense. Here’s my current six-leg lineup and why I like it.

MICHEL PEREIRA — OVER 1.5 ROUNDS

Pereira is one of the most chaotic fighters on the UFC roster. Unpredictable is an understatement, which usually makes him dangerous to bet on.

The reason I like the over here is the matchup. Zachary Reese is not easy to finish and fights very safe. He doesn’t put himself in unnecessary danger. On top of that, Pereira is coming off a three-fight skid after an eight-fight win streak. I expect a more measured version of him as he tries to get back in the win column.

Over 1.5 rounds feels like a strong play, even though this fight absolutely has finish potential.

ANTE DELIJA — UNDER 8.25 MINUTES FIGHT TIME

This feels like a no-brainer. In his last seven fights, only one went to decision. The rest ended in the first round. The Croatian hits like a truck, and this has all the makings of a heavyweight shootout.

Looking at Spivac’s recent fights, two barely made it into the second round and only one went a full three. A finish before 2:45 of Round 2 feels very realistic here.

MELQUIZAEL COSTA — OVER 2.5 ROUNDS

This one is straightforward. Even PrizePicks tagged it with the happy demon. In his last five fights, Costa has reached the third round three times. Dan Ige has never been finished.

All signs point to this one at least touching Round 3.

UROS MEDIC — OVER 21.5 SIGNIFICANT STRIKES

This is a high-volume striker versus another high-volume striker. Medic hasn’t needed much time to get finishes in his last three fights, but this is a massive step up in competition against Geoff Neal.

With Neal’s power and experience, I expect Medic to show more respect early rather than rushing for a finish. That likely means more exchanges and more opportunities to rack up significant strikes. It’s still risky—Medic is aggressive—but the volume path is there.

SEAN STRICKLAND — OVER 85.5 SIGNIFICANT STRIKES

This also feels like a strong play. Here are Strickland’s significant strike totals in his last five fights, going backward: 128, 182, 173, 137, 81.

Unless something wild happens early, 85.5 is very attainable for him. His entire style is built around volume, pressure, and steady output over time.
